MDCAT practice test
An MDCAT practice test is a short, chapter-level set of MCQs with the answer and a worked explanation shown after each question. These samples come from the live bank; the full chapter set opens in the app. Start with a chapter you have studied, not a random one.
How chapter practice works
One chapter, up to eight questions in the public preview, the full set in the app.
Chapter practice is the opposite of a mock: one topic, immediate feedback and no clock. That is deliberate. A student who has just read a chapter needs to find out whether the words made sense before mixing that chapter with four others.
Each public chapter page shows eight questions from the chapter with the correct option and its explanation. The app keeps the full set and remembers which questions you answered correctly, which you missed and which you have not seen. Use the chapter notes first if the chapter is new, then practise it, then sit a full mock once every subject has had a first pass.
The count on each row is the live number of active questions filed under that chapter.
Ten real questions with answers
Ten chapters across English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Logical Reasoning, taken from the 2026 Federal paper.
- Question 1, English, Formal and Lexical Aspect of Language, Federal 2026Choose the option with correct spelling.
- Nusance
- Neusance
- Nuisance (correct answer)
- Nuissance
Correct answer: C
The noun 'nuisance' is correctly spelled with the vowel digraph '-ui-', denoting an annoying or troublesome person, thing, or situation. - Question 2, Biology, Immunity, Federal 2026Constant region of a specific type of antibody is made up of ............... type of amino acids.
- Same (correct answer)
- Different
- Variable
- Hydrophobic
Correct answer: A
Within a specific class or isotype of antibody, the constant region possesses an identical sequence of amino acids responsible for mediating effector functions. - Question 3, Biology, Digestion, Federal 2026Which of the following event would likely to produce hunger pangs in your stomach, when you are fasting:
- Low sodium level in blood
- Antiperistalsis of alimentary canal
- Low blood glucose (correct answer)
- Dehydration in body
Correct answer: C
Fasting-induced hypoglycemia activates the lateral hypothalamic feeding center and vagal tone, producing rhythmic gastric hunger pangs. - Question 4, Biology, Biological Molecules, Federal 2026Information regarding living organism's body processes from construction of body structure to flow of information from nucleus are provided by:
- Biogenic elements
- Biological molecules
- Inorganic molecules
- Organic molecules (correct answer)
Correct answer: D
Organic molecules provide the biochemical blueprint and framework for living systems, from structural assembly to nuclear information flow. - Question 5, Chemistry, Chemistry of Hydrocarbons, Federal 2026Alkenes are less acidic than alkynes due to
- higher s character
- lesser s character (correct answer)
- stronger bonds
- higher electronegativity
Correct answer: B
Alkenes are less acidic than alkynes because sp² carbons have lesser s-character (~33%) than sp carbons (50%), making their conjugate bases less stable. - Question 6, Chemistry, Chemical Equilibrium, Federal 2026Methanol is manufactured by reacting carbon dioxide and hydrogen. CO₂(g) + 3H₂(g) ⇌ CH₃OH(g) + H₂O(g) ΔH = -49 kJ/mol
- Adding methanol
- Adding an excess of steam
- Decreasing the pressure.
- Decreasing the temperature (correct answer)
Correct answer: D
For an exothermic synthesis reaction, lowering the temperature shifts the equilibrium forward according to Le Chatelier's principle, increasing the equilibrium yield of methanol. - Question 7, Chemistry, Chemical Bonding, Federal 2026Which compound will have a maximum dipole moment?
- CH₄
- CCl₄
- CH3Cl (correct answer)
- C2H4
Correct answer: C
has an asymmetrical tetrahedral geometry that creates a net molecular dipole moment, whereas highly symmetrical molecules cancel out their individual bond dipoles. - Question 8, Physics, Electrostatics, Federal 20261 mega ohm x 1 pico farad =
- second
- milli second
- micro second (correct answer)
- mega second
Correct answer: C
Multiplying resistance () by capacitance () yields the time constant , which equals one micro second. - Question 9, Physics, Work and Energy, Federal 2026When a force is parallel to the direction of motion of the body, work done on the body is:
- Zero
- minimum
- maximum (correct answer)
- infinite
Correct answer: C
Work done is maximized when force and displacement are parallel (), because , giving . - Question 10, Logical Reasoning, Logical Problems, Federal 2026If 5 is subtracted from 30, what will be the square root of remaining?
- 25
- 30
- 5 (correct answer)
- 10
Correct answer: C
Subtracting 5 from 30 yields 25, and calculating the principal square root of this remainder results in 5.

Questions about practice
Are the practice questions free?
The ten samples on this page are free to read, with the answer and the explanation. A free account includes 500 practice attempts, and every attempt includes a worked explanation.
Are the questions chapter-wise?
Yes. Every chapter below links to a public preview that shows up to eight questions from that chapter. Inside the app the same chapter opens the full set, with your own correct, incorrect and unseen state.
Do the chapters match the MDCAT syllabus?
The 61 chapters tagged for MDCAT are the ones the study plan schedules. The full catalogue also has 28 AKU-only chapters and the two reasoning subjects; those pages are labelled AKU track and are not part of the MDCAT plan.
How many questions are in each chapter?
The live count is printed on every row. It changes as the bank grows, so it is read from the catalogue rather than fixed here. A chapter with no count shown means the count could not be read, not that the chapter is empty.
Where to go next
If you have covered most of a subject, move to a full mock. If you are still reading, the past papers show the chapters that keep appearing, and the syllabus breakdown shows how much of each subject the paper actually carries.
Practise the whole chapter.
A free account includes 500 attempts with worked explanations. Your correct, incorrect and unseen questions are kept separately.
