Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 2026

What this policy covers

How mymdcat uses cookies and similar browser storage. We split cookies into two groups: essential (always on, needed for the app to work) and optional (off by default, only used when you accept).

Essential cookies

These keep the app working. We cannot turn them off, because without them you could not sign in or save preferences.
  • Sign-in session: keeps you signed in across page reloads. Set when you log in. Cleared when you log out or after 30 days of inactivity.
  • Theme preference: remembers whether you chose light, dark, or system theme. Persists until you clear browser storage.

Optional cookies (with your permission)

These only fire after you click Accept on the cookie banner. Reject keeps them off, and you can always change your mind later (see the section below).
  • Anonymous error reports: when something crashes in the app, we capture the JavaScript error and a short replay of the page state in the seconds before the crash. This helps us reproduce and fix bugs faster. Replays are not full session recordings; they only fire on errors.
  • Anonymous performance traces: a small sample (one in ten) of page-load and click timings is recorded so we can see which screens are slow on which devices. No content from the page is captured.

What we do NOT use

  • Advertising cookies of any kind.
  • Third-party tracking pixels (Facebook, Google Ads, etc.).
  • Full-session replay recordings.
  • Cross-site cookies that follow you to other websites.

How long they persist

The sign-in session lasts up to 30 days. The theme preference persists until you clear browser storage. Your consent choice (Accept or Reject) is saved on your device and never sent to our servers. Optional error reports and performance traces are kept for 30 days, then auto-delete.

How to change your choice

Want to change your mind? The easiest way is to clear your browser cookies for this site. The next time you visit, the banner will appear again and you can pick the other option.

We are building a Privacy page inside Settings so you can do this with a single click. Until then, if you are stuck, message us on WhatsApp and we will help.
