MDCAT past papers
MDCAT past papers are the papers previous candidates actually sat, kept in their original question order. The archive holds 114 active papers from 6 boards between 2000 and 2026. Every 2026 paper is free, with answers and a worked explanation for each question.
Every paper in the archive
Board first, then the newest year. The questions column is the number of positions this paper serves today.

The archive holds 115 paper rows; 1 disabled duplicate is not offered. Some older papers are partial. The number above is the positions recovered for that paper, not a coverage score.
How to use a past paper
Three passes. The first one is a test; the second one is where the learning happens.
- 1. Sit it under the clock. A 2026 paper is 180 questions in 180 minutes (the NUMS 2026 paper in this archive has 151 positions in 165 minutes). Do not pause for notes. The point of this pass is to find the questions you cannot finish, not the ones you can.
- 2. Mark it and read every explanation. Read the explanation for the questions you got right as well as the ones you missed. A right answer for the wrong reason is still a gap, and it is the one a student never revisits. See how to use the 2026 past papers and how to review wrong answers.
- 3. Redo the missed chapters, untimed. Write down the chapter, not the question. Then read the chapter note and do a short chapter drill. The paper told you where to go; chapter practice is how you get there.
The topics that repeat are measured from these papers, not guessed. Read what repeats across the past papers before you decide a chapter is low-yield.
Five real questions from the 2026 papers
A question from five of the boards, with the answer key and the explanation a student sees after answering.
- Question 1, English, Formal and Lexical Aspect of Language, UHS 2026 (recalled)The cat chased the rat . The underlined word is _______.
- Adverb of time
- Adverb of manner
- Adverb of frequency
- Adverb of place (correct answer)
Correct answer: D
'Everywhere' functions as an adverb of place because it modifies the verb 'chased' by answering the question 'where?'. - Question 2, Biology, Enzymes, DUHS 2026According to the rigid "Lock and Key" model of enzyme action, which statement is true?
- The active site is flexible and changes shape upon substrate binding
- The active site is a rigid structure, and the substrate is perfectly complementary to it (correct answer)
- The active site is non-rigid, and the substrate is non-complementary
- The substrate changes its configuration permanently to fit a flexible active site
Correct answer: B
Under Emil Fischer's Lock and Key model, the enzyme's active site is a pre-formed, rigid template exactly complementary to its specific substrate. - Question 3, Chemistry, Fundamentals of Chemistry, KMU 2026What is the mass of 1 mole of calcium carbonate (CaCO3)? (Molar mass of calcium: 40 g/mol, carbon: 12 g/mol, oxygen: 16 g/mol)
- 25 g
- 50 g
- 75 g
- 100 g (correct answer)
Correct answer: D
The mass of of equals its molar mass, calculated by summing the relative atomic masses (), giving exactly . - Question 4, Physics, Force and Motion, NUMS 2026The vertical height and horizontal range of projectiles are equal at angle:
- 30o
- 45o
- 76o (correct answer)
- 90o
Correct answer: C
A projectile's maximum height equals its horizontal range when , yielding a launch angle of approximately . - Question 5, Logical Reasoning, Logical Problems, Federal 2026If 5 is subtracted from 30, what will be the square root of remaining?
- 25
- 30
- 5 (correct answer)
- 10
Correct answer: C
Subtracting 5 from 30 yields 25, and calculating the principal square root of this remainder results in 5.
What the free account includes
Every 2026 paper is free, in timed or tutor mode, with answers and worked explanations. A free paper does not use your 500 practice attempts.
The 500 free attempts cover practice questions with worked explanations. The pass adds the pre-2026 archive, full timed mocks, analytics and a higher SAGE allowance. The pricing page lists the difference in one table.
A paper is a position in a real exam, not a set of random questions. The runner keeps the original order and the original clock, which is the part a chapter drill cannot simulate.
Questions about the archive
Are MDCAT past papers free?
Every 2026 paper is free, in timed or tutor mode, with answers and worked explanations. Papers before 2026 are included in the MDCAT Pass. A paper does not use your 500 free practice attempts.
How many MDCAT past papers are there?
This archive holds 114 active papers from 6 boards, from 2000 to 2026. Older papers are sometimes partial: the row shows how many positions were recovered, not the total the paper was printed with.
Which past paper should I start with?
Start with the board whose paper you will actually sit. If you are not sure yet, sit the Federal paper first, then the paper for your province. The result is a diagnostic, not a forecast: it tells you which chapters to revisit.
Is the 2026 Punjab paper an official UHS paper?
No. UHS did not release the 2026 Punjab paper. It is a recalled paper reconstructed from candidates, so a disputed question is a recall, not an official key. The page labels it as recalled.
Why does an older paper show fewer than 180 questions?
Some older papers were only partly recovered. The paper serves the positions that were recovered, in their original order, and the row shows that number. A partial paper is still useful for the chapters it covers.
