The archive holds 14 papers for this board and 2,343 positions in total. One row is partial: where a paper serves fewer positions than it was printed with, the cell shows both numbers.

What makes the Federal paper different

The Federal archive follows the paper through three names: FMDC from 2013, the HEC Phase I and Phase II papers of 2017, and the PMC National MDCAT of 2020. The count moves with the name: 100 in 2013, 149 in 2014 to 2016, 120 for each HEC phase, 199 in 2018.

2017 and 2024 each hold two papers. The HEC ran two phases in 2017; the 2024 main paper and its reconduct hold 200 and 199 positions. Both are kept.

One row is partial: FMDC 2016 serves 148 of its 149 positions. A second 2026 row, recovered at 143 positions, is disabled and not offered; the active 2026 paper holds all 180.

If you do not yet know which province you will sit in, the Federal 2026 paper is the one to start with: it is the full 180 questions in 180 minutes.

Three real questions from the 2026 paper

The answer key and the explanation a student sees after answering.

  1. Question 1, English, Formal and Lexical Aspect of Language, Federal 2026
Choose the option with correct spelling.
    • Nusance
    • Neusance
    • Nuisance (correct answer)
    • Nuissance

    Correct answer: C

The noun 'nuisance' is correctly spelled with the vowel digraph '-ui-', denoting an annoying or troublesome person, thing, or situation.
  2. Question 2, Biology, Evolution, Federal 2026
A researcher claims that environment directly induces useful traits in organisms, that are inherited in next generations. This idea aligns with:
    • Lamarckism (correct answer)
    • Darwinism
    • Special creationism
    • Neo-Darwinism

    Correct answer: A

Lamarckism states that environmental changes directly induce adaptive somatic modifications that organisms pass on to their offspring via inheritance of acquired traits.
  3. Question 3, Chemistry, Gases, Federal 2026
If the temperature of a gas is doubled at constant pressure, what will be its volume:
    • Halved
    • Doubled (correct answer)
    • Remains constant
    • Quadrupled

    Correct answer: B

Under Charles's Law, gas volume is directly proportional to absolute temperature at constant pressure (V∝TV \propto T); therefore, doubling temperature doubles volume.

Federal questions

Which Federal past paper should I sit first?

The 2026 paper: 180 questions in 180 minutes, free, with a worked explanation for each question.

Why are there two Federal papers in 2017 and 2024?

The HEC ran two phases in 2017, so both are in the archive. In 2024 the main FMDC paper and its reconduct are separate papers, with 200 and 199 positions.

Why does FMDC 2016 show 148 questions?

Because one of its 149 positions was not recovered. The paper serves the 148 that were, in their original order, and the table says so.
