What the merit trend shows

Our dataset records SMC MBBS open-merit aggregates of 87.55% for 2022, 88.70% for 2023, 83.40% for 2024 and 84.75% for 2025. The 2025 self-finance aggregate is 83.13%.

Every aggregate follows the Sindh formula: 50% MDCAT, 40% HSSC and 10% SSC. 3

Compare the sessions with care. The MDCAT scale moved from 210 marks to 200 marks and then to 180 marks across these years. 8 One percentage point is not one raw mark in every row. The 2024 row sits 5.30 points below 2023, and the 2025 row recovers to 84.75%. Read the four open-merit rows as a range of about five points, not as one cut-off.
