History and heritage
Pakistan created its Red Cross society on 20 December 1947. Governor-General Muhammad Ali Jinnah issued the Pakistan Red Cross Order and became its first president. 8 Parliament renamed the body the Pakistan Red Crescent Society in 1974. 8 The society belongs to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. 8 Its Lahore wing runs the college and the hospital. 1
The society founded the parent college and its teaching hospital in 2012. 1 Both stand on main Multan Road, about 48 km from Lahore. 1 The college states a mission of healthcare for the underprivileged population. 1 The dental wing followed inside that campus. It teaches on the same site as the medical wing and uses the same clinical facilities. 12
PMDC lists the parent college among the private medical colleges of Punjab with a seat allocation of 100 for MBBS. 4 The 2025-26 UHS notice places the parent college at number 20 among the private medical colleges for Punjab. 3
Pak Red Crescent Teaching Hospital opened in 2012 as a tertiary care teaching hospital. 2 The PMDC register of recognised institutes attaches it to the college as an owned hospital. 6 The register entry also covers the dental services of the hospital. 6 The hospital holds a Punjab Healthcare Commission licence. 2
The parent college lists eight basic science departments on its site. 1 Those departments teach the early years of the BDS course before students move to clinical work. 1 The dental wing uses the same departments for its early years. 1
Our directory records a four-year BDS for the dental wing. The campus facilities record lists a dental hospital, a phantom head skills laboratory, a maxillofacial clinic, a digital library and student hostels. The parent campus provides boarding and transport for both wings. 1

Closing merit history
Aggregate percentage for the last candidate admitted in each year. Public colleges report open-merit; private colleges report the self-finance pool.
What the merit trend shows
The BDS self-finance closing aggregate moved from 78.90% in 2024 to 82.00% in 2025. The 2025 figure sits above the 2024 figure by more than three points. Both values come from the self-finance category of the wing.
UHS builds the aggregate from three parts: 10% SSC, 40% HSSC and 50% MDCAT. 7 The BDS route asks for at least 50% in MDCAT, against 55% for MBBS. 37 The formula rounds the final aggregate to four decimals. 7
MDCAT total marks moved from 210 to 200 to 180 across recent sessions, so one percentage is not the same raw score in every row. The UHS merit annexure works one example on a 200-mark scale and a second on a 180-mark scale. 7

Common questions
Is this a separate college?
No. The dental wing sits inside Pak Red Crescent Medical and Dental College and shares its campus, staff and teaching hospital. 12 The parent college runs the site from 2012 onward. 1 Our directory treats the BDS programme as a wing record rather than a separate campus.
How do I apply to the BDS programme?
You apply through the UHS private-sector BDS portal, not to the wing directly. Register online, list the college in your preferences, upload documents and pay the processing fee. 3 The 2025-26 notice opens applications on 7 November 2025 and closes them on 21 November 2025. 3
What MDCAT score do I need?
The 2025-26 notice requires at least 50% in MDCAT for BDS. MDCAT of 2023, 2024 or 2025 counts for that session. 3 You also need at least 60% in HSSC Pre-Medical or an IBCC equivalent. 3 The MBBS route asks for 55%, so the BDS bar sits lower. 3
How long does the course run?
Our directory records a four-year BDS for the wing. Clinical work takes place in the dental units of Pak Red Crescent Teaching Hospital. 2 The campus facilities record lists a dental hospital and a phantom head skills laboratory for the wing. 1 The wing shares the campus with the MBBS programme. 1

MDCAT test score scales changed over time (210 in 2021, 200 in 2022, 180 from 2025). The MDCAT weightage in the aggregate formula (typically 50% MDCAT, 40% HSSC, 10% SSC) has stayed stable across cycles we cover. Closing merit numbers between cycles may not be directly comparable.
