Chief Minister Parvez Elahi started the construction of the college. Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated it in September 2008. 3 The UHS prospectus records the establishment date as 14 April 2009, and our profile field records 2008. This page keeps both records in view.

The college was the first medical college between Lahore and Rawalpindi. 1 It was built to serve the industrial regions of Jhelum, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Gujrat. 3

The college first worked in the Ibn-e-Sina block of the University of Gujrat. The government approved a new building on 15 March 2012, and the foundation was laid the same day. 13 Classes started in the new academic block on 14 August 2022. 1

The University of Gujrat controlled the college until 2022. 3 The Punjab Cabinet approved the change, and the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department took control on 1 January 2022. 1

What the merit trend shows

The dataset records NSMC open-merit aggregates of 84.95% for 2022, 86.30% for 2023, 89.10% for 2024 and 93.6015% for 2025. The bar rose in each of the four sessions.

Every aggregate follows the UHS formula: 50% MDCAT, 40% HSSC and 10% SSC. 2 UHS rounds the result up to four decimal places. 2

Compare the sessions with care. The MDCAT scale moved from 210 marks to 200 marks and then to 180 marks across these years. One percentage point is not one raw mark in every row.
