History and growth

LMDC opened in 1997 on the North Canal Bank at Tulspura, Lahore. 1 It belongs to the first generation of private medical colleges in the Punjab. Its own site describes it as the first private medical college in Lahore. 1

The college grew around its clinical partners. Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital serves as the main clinical site, and the campus lists Ghurki Trust Hospital, Surgi-med Hospital and Doctors Hospital as associated hospitals. 1 A new teaching hospital rises inside the campus, and the site records that work is under way. 1

The academic offer widened over the years. The site lists MBBS, BDS, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Physical Therapy, nutrition, biotechnology, nursing and paramedical streams. 1 Nursing courses sit at the Doctors Hospital College of Nursing, and the Institute of Paramedical Education covers the paramedical courses. 1

Academic governance shows in published documents. The college keeps a curriculum book written to PMDC standards, year-wise MBBS and BDS curriculum files and quality assurance manuals for both programmes. 1 Students also reach the HEC digital library through the college entry. 1

LMDC keeps an alumni office and publishes a newsletter, LMDC Pulse, with a June 2026 edition on the site. 1 UHS runs the admission cycle for the 2025-26 session under the policy the Government of the Punjab notified on 22 October 2025. 4

What the merit trend shows

The dataset records LMDC MBBS self-finance aggregates of 84.10% in 2022, 85.50% in 2023, 84.30% in 2024 and 87.40% in 2025. BDS moves from 81.50% in 2022 to 84.80% in 2025, with 82.85% and 81.90% in between.

Every aggregate follows the UHS formula: 50% MDCAT, 40% HSSC and 10% SSC. 4 UHS rounds the result up to four decimal places. 4

Compare the sessions with care. The MDCAT scale moved from 210 marks to 200 marks and then to 180 marks across these years. One percentage point is not one raw mark in every row.

Admission process (MBBS and BDS via UHS)

LMDC admits through the UHS private-sector process for Punjab. The steps below follow the UHS private admission notice for 2025-26. 4

  1. Check eligibility: at least 60% in HSSC Pre-Medical or an IBCC-equivalent qualification, and at least 55% in MDCAT for MBBS. 4
  2. MDCAT of 2023, 2024 or 2025 counts for the 2025-26 session. 4
  3. Register on the UHS MBBS portal with your name, guardian name, email and CNIC or passport number. 4
  4. Select your seat category, then enter personal, domicile, SSC, HSSC and MDCAT records. 4
  5. Add every college you want in order of preference. LMDC must appear in that list. 4
  6. Upload attested SSC and HSSC result cards, domicile, CNIC or B-Form and a guardian CNIC. Each file stays at or below 1 MB. 4
  7. Pay the Rs. 2,000 application fee through a Bank of Punjab or National Bank challan, or the 1Bill service. Upload the receipt after payment. 4
  8. Submit the application and follow the merit lists on the UHS website. 5
  9. A selected candidate pays Rs. 600,000 to the UHS account within three working days. The candidate then pays the balance to the college. 4

Teaching hospitals and clinical training

Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital is the main clinical site, and it holds a place on the Lahore hospital lists. 9 The college presents it as a centre for spine surgery, orthopaedic trauma and arthroscopy care, and the dataset records 600 beds there. 1

The campus site lists Ghurki Trust Hospital, Surgi-med Hospital and Doctors Hospital as associated hospitals. 1 Students meet patients under supervision in wards, specialty units and the emergency department during the clinical years.

The dental side works through the modern dental clinics recorded in our dataset. A new campus teaching hospital adds clinical space when it opens. 1

Campus and facilities

The campus sits at Tulspura on the North Canal Bank in Lahore. 2 Our facilities record lists on-campus hostels, a central digital library, modern dental clinics, Ghurki Trust Hospital wards and the spine centre and arthroscopy lab.

The site adds a campus mosque, computer labs, a library, cafeterias, multimedia halls and an auditorium. 1 Courts and indoor games cover recreation on campus. 1

A solar-powered green lab supplies part of the campus power, and the site describes it as 80% energy efficient. 1 The library also opens the HEC digital library entry kept for LMDC. 1 Hostels house students across the five-year MBBS course. 1

Recognition

PMDC lists Lahore Medical & Dental College among the private medical colleges of Punjab with 150 MBBS seats. 7 Its dental college sits among the PMDC private dental colleges with 75 seats. 8 Our recognition record also holds a WHO World Directory listing, ECFMG eligibility and CPSP accreditation.

The college site states accreditation by the Pakistan Medical Council, the College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. 1 UHS acts as the admitting university for Punjab and publishes all merit and selection lists on its own website. 46

Student life

Most students live in the on-campus hostels, so daily life stays inside the college grounds. 1 The campus keeps a mosque, cafeterias, an auditorium and courts for indoor games. 1

Tulspura sits inside Lahore, and the city offers hospitals, libraries and public transport. 2 The alumni office and the LMDC Pulse newsletter record campus events and graduate news. 1

Common questions

How do I apply to LMDC?

You apply through the UHS private-sector portal rather than to the college. Register an account, select your seat category, add LMDC in your preference list, upload the documents and pay the Rs. 2,000 processing fee. The college portal at admissions.lmdc.edu.pk runs its own form as well. 43

What marks do I need for MBBS?

You need at least 60% in HSSC Pre-Medical or an IBCC-equivalent qualification and at least 55% in MDCAT. MDCAT of 2023, 2024 or 2025 counts for the 2025-26 session. You must also hold a domicile of any district of Pakistan. 4

How does UHS calculate the aggregate?

UHS takes 50% of MDCAT marks, 40% of HSSC marks and 10% of SSC marks, then rounds the total up to four decimal places. The MDCAT mark scale changed from 210 to 200 and then to 180 marks across recent sessions, so compare the rows with care. 4

What fee does a selected candidate pay?

The application fee is Rs. 2,000. A selected candidate deposits Rs. 600,000 with UHS within three working days of the merit list. The candidate then pays the rest of the college fee directly to LMDC. The recorded MBBS fee is about Rs. 1.65 million a year and stays an estimate. 4

Does LMDC offer hostel accommodation?

Yes. On-campus hostels house students through the study years, and the facilities record lists them for the MBBS course. The campus keeps a mosque, cafeterias and indoor game courts on site. Call 0346-4418891 or write to [email protected] for queries. 12

MDCAT test score scales changed over time (210 in 2021, 200 in 2022, 180 from 2025). The MDCAT weightage in the aggregate formula (typically 50% MDCAT, 40% HSSC, 10% SSC) has stayed stable across cycles we cover. Closing merit numbers between cycles may not be directly comparable.
