History and heritage
The hospital honours Kaneez Fatima, who died in childbirth in 1917. Her husband, Maulvi Feroz-ud-din, was a prominent scholar. The couple faced a severe lack of medical facilities at the time. 4 The loss shaped the family decision to build a hospital in her memory. 4
In 1944, Maulvi Feroz-ud-din founded the Ferozsons Trust with a cash endowment and the proceeds from his books. 4 The Trust aimed to give quality medical care to the under-privileged on a non-profit, self-sustaining basis. It also promoted education and social development. 4 The vision started in 1971. Dr. Abdul Waheed and Begum Saida Waheed, the son and daughter-in-law of the founder, donated their assets for a hospital for women and children. 4
The hospital opened in 1977 as a 200-bed community facility for women and children. 4 It runs on a cross-subsidy model, where funds from paying patients support under-privileged patients. 4
By 2000, Fatima Memorial Hospital became a 453-bed multi-specialty tertiary care teaching hospital. 4 The college started its MBBS programme in the same year. 3 The medical and dental programmes share the same teaching hospital. 34 Our fact sheet records 550 beds at the hospital.
The hospital became the teaching base for FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry. 4 It trains postgraduate doctors for the FCPS, MCPS, MD and MRCGP qualifications. 4 The Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing uses it as a practice base, and nurses train there beside the doctors. 4
The college reported 58 positions and 1,416 distinctions in UHS examinations. 3 It runs the FMH Institute of Allied Health Sciences beside the medical and dental programmes. 3 The allied health institute reported 154 positions and 943 distinctions, and the nursing college reported 58 positions and 1,266 distinctions. 3 The college site lists a Department of Examination, a Department of Medical Education and a Department of Dental Education. 3 The college held convocations in 2022 and 2025. 3

What the merit trend shows
FMH allots its seats under the private self-finance pool, so its aggregates follow the self-finance merit list. MBBS self-finance aggregates moved from 82.95% in 2022 to 84.10% in 2023, then to 85.10% in 2024 and 88.20% in 2025. The BDS line moved from 80% to 81.30%, 82.50% and 85.40% across the same four years.
UHS builds the aggregate from 10% of SSC marks, 40% of HSSC marks and 50% of MDCAT marks. 1 The final figure is rounded to four decimal places. 1 The MBBS line ends about 5.3 points above the 2022 figure. An equal percentage does not always mean an equal raw score.
Seats at FMH follow the private-sector list, which stayed open to domicile of any district of Pakistan. 1 The college charged an estimated Rs. 1,700,000 a year for MBBS in our fact sheet.

Common questions
How do I apply to FMH?
You apply through the UHS private MBBS or BDS portal, not to FMH directly. Register, list FMH among your preferences, upload your documents and pay the Rs. 2,000 processing fee. Applications ran from 7 November to 21 November 2025 for the last cycle. 1
What MDCAT score do I need?
MBBS needs at least 55% in MDCAT, and BDS needs 50%. HSSC Pre-Medical needs at least 60%. UHS accepted MDCAT of 2023, 2024 or 2025 for the 2025-26 cycle. FMH stays open to candidates with a domicile from any district of Pakistan. 1
How is the aggregate calculated?
UHS counts 10% of SSC marks, 40% of HSSC marks and 50% of MDCAT marks, then rounds the total to four decimal places. The self-finance list carries the FMH seats for both degrees. Your aggregate decides your place on that list. 1
How much do I pay at admission?
UHS holds Rs. 600,000 within three working days of the merit list. You pay the remaining fee directly to the college on a quarterly, half-yearly or annual schedule. The Rs. 2,000 processing fee is paid at the application stage and stays separate. 1
