NUMS and MDCAT: do I need to sit both?
I want Army Medical College but I do not know if NUMS has its own test now or if MDCAT is enough. Also what are the CMH colleges?

Two separate things are true at once:
- The national MDCAT route requires the MDCAT. PMDC's score is the entry qualification for national MBBS and BDS seats, including NUMS institutions. PMDC's overseas and foreign-seat route uses SAT-II or a foreign MCAT/UCAT instead; check the current notice.
- NUMS runs its own admission process on top. NUMS uses the MDCAT score plus its own interview and fitness criteria for Army Medical College, and runs a parallel admission cycle for the CMH network.
The NUMS-affiliated institutions include Army Medical College Rawalpindi, CMH Lahore Medical and Dental College, CMH Kharian, CMH Multan, Wah Medical College, HITEC Taxila, Karachi Institute of Medical Sciences, CMH Bahawalpur, and Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences. Some are public-character (cadet seats) and some admit open-merit civilians.
Practical plan: sit MDCAT as your base, then register for the NUMS cycle when it opens (check numspak.edu.pk). The NUMS row in the admissions guide has the full institution list.
