PMDC forms transparency committee for MDCAT 2025
In response to NA and Senate scrutiny of the 2024 cycle, PM&DC has announced a dedicated transparency committee for the 2025 cycle, focusing on paper handling, centre CCTV, and answer-key audits.
Transparency committee for 2025
PM&DC on 27 November 2024 announced a dedicated transparency committee for the MDCAT 2025 cycle, with three focus areas: paper handling from printing to distribution, CCTV coverage of every test centre, and an independent audit of the answer key before result publication.
The committee was set up in direct response to National Assembly and Senate Standing Committee scrutiny of irregularities in the 2024 cycle, including the paper-handling issue that triggered the Sindh retake.
What this means for 2025 and 2026
- The transparency committee's procedures were carried forward into the 2025 cycle and the 2026 cycle currently scheduled for 20 September 2026.
- The committee's answer-key audit was credited by the NA Standing Committee in October 2025 for the absence of major irregularities in the 2025 cycle.
