MDCAT 2027 will be right after FSc. What should my timeline look like?
Asked by StudentStaff10 October 2026New1 answerAnswered
The government said MDCAT 2027 will be held within days of the FSc results. I am in FSc Part-I right now. Does this change how I should prepare, or is it the same as before just earlier?

It changes the shape of your year, not the syllabus. The confirmed facts: the format stays 180 MCQs in 180 minutes (Bio 81, Chem 45, Phys 36, Eng 9, LR 9), and no 2027 syllabus change has been announced.
What the new timing means practically:
- Your FSc books are the MDCAT syllabus. Under the old calendar, students crammed the syllabus after boards. You will be tested while your board marks are being decided, so every FSc topic you learn properly now is double value: 40% of your aggregate is FSc, 50% is MDCAT.
- Start spaced repetition this year, not in a crash month. A topic learned in December and reviewed on schedule stays available in September. Cramming does not survive six months.
- Mocks move earlier. Plan your first full 180-question mock for around six months out, then roughly monthly, then weekly in the final two months.
- Watch for the official date. Registration has historically opened in June-July for a September sitting. Check mdcat.pmdc.pk and the news desk rather than academy WhatsApp groups, where fake paper leaks circulate every single year.
The study-plan wizard can build this calendar against your daily goal.
