King Edward Medical University: how high does the merit actually go?

Asked by StudentStaff18 October 2026New1 answerAnswered

KEMU is the dream but I want a realistic number. What aggregate closes King Edward, and what makes it different from other Lahore colleges?

King Edward is the most competitive public medical college in Punjab, founded in 1860, and it consistently closes at the very top of the UHS list, above the UHS public-sector floor of 93.51% (2025-26). In practice that has meant aggregates in the mid-90s: effectively 170+/180 MDCAT territory for most FSc profiles.

    What actually helps:

    • MDCAT is 50% of the aggregate, so it moves your position more than anything else. A jump from 160 to 170 raw is worth roughly 2.8 aggregate points; no FSc improvement available to you is worth that much.
    • FSc Part-I still matters. With MDCAT 2027 sitting days after your FSc results, your board marks are fixed before the test, so there is no late-FSc rescue.
    • FJMU, AIMC, and SIMS close below KEMU within the same UHS pool and are realistic companions on the same preference list.

College facts (seat counts, attached hospital, fee summary) are on the KEMU directory page.
