What the merit trend shows

SMC open-merit aggregates rose in each of the last four sessions. The closing aggregate moved from 82.10% in 2022 to 83.50% in 2023. It then reached 88.20% in 2024 and 93.61% in 2025. The rise runs across four sessions without a break.

KMU sets the aggregate with three components: 50% MDCAT, 40% HSSC and 10% SSC. 3 The 2025-26 open-merit list shows MDCAT marks out of 180. 5 KMU breaks a tie on age, then matric marks, then entry-test marks. 3 Read older rows with care. The MDCAT scale changed from 210 to 200 and then to 180 across years. One percentage therefore does not equal one raw score in every row.
