What the merit trend shows

AMC open-merit aggregates rose in each of the last four sessions. The closing aggregate moved from 84.85% in 2022 to 86.10% in 2023. It then reached 89.80% in 2024 and 94.19% in 2025. The rise runs across four sessions without a break.

The 2025 self-finance line closed at 92.94%. It sits 1.25 points below the open-merit figure for the same year. The gap shows self-finance candidates who sat just under the open-merit line. KMU sets 31 December as the last date for open-merit MBBS admission. 3

KMU sets the aggregate with three components: 50% MDCAT, 40% HSSC and 10% SSC. 3 The 2025-26 open-merit list shows MDCAT marks out of 180. 5 KMU breaks a tie on age, then matric marks, then entry-test marks. 3 Read older rows with care. The MDCAT scale changed from 210 to 200 and then to 180 across years. One percentage therefore does not equal one raw score in every row.

Admission process (MBBS via KMU)

KMU runs one centralized process for every public medical college in KP. The steps below follow the KMU admission policy for 2025-26. 3 The policy also fixes the fee deadlines for every public college in KP. 3

  1. Check eligibility: at least 60% in HSSC Pre-Medical or an equivalent qualification, and at least 55% in MDCAT for MBBS. 3
  2. Sit the MDCAT that PMDC conducts under the national schedule. One province result stays valid across Pakistan for three years. 3
  3. Apply online at cas.kmu.edu.pk or kmu.edu.pk. KMU accepts no paper form or postal submission. 3
  4. Give an order of preference for every medical college you want. AMC must appear in this list. 3
  5. Upload domicile, result cards, identity documents, photograph, signature and thumbprint in the format the portal asks for. 3
  6. Wait for the provisional merit list. KMU shows at least three consecutive merit lists for MBBS. 3
  7. Pay the admission fee within three working days of the offer letter. The seat lapses if you miss this window. 3
  8. Report to AMC with your original documents: matric and F.Sc result cards, domicile, migration certificate and CNIC copies. 3
  9. Pay the college fee challan before the deadline set by KMU. 3
