MDCAT 2026 rescheduled to 20 September 2026 by PMDC
PM&DC has moved MDCAT 2026 from 16 August to 20 September 2026 on the Prime Minister's directive, citing the need for a smooth, secure and transparent conduct of the test.
Rescheduled to 20 September 2026
PM&DC issued a press release on 16 August 2026 confirming that the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), previously scheduled for 16 August 2026, has been rescheduled to 20 September 2026 on the directions of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The regulator said the change was made to "ensure the smooth, secure and transparent conduct of the examination while facilitating all candidates." All other terms, conditions and examination arrangements remain unchanged unless PM&DC notifies otherwise.
What this means for candidates
- The 180 MCQ, 180 mark, 180 minute format is unchanged.
- The aggregate formula (Matric 10%, Intermediate 40%, MDCAT 50%) is unchanged.
- The provincial admitting universities (UHS, KMU, DUHS, JSMU, LUMHS, BUMHS, SZABMU, NUMS) will run their own merit lists as planned.
- Admit cards already issued remain valid; candidates should re-check the centre, reporting time, and seat number on the PM&DC portal.
