PM&DC, in a public statement on 3 August 2026, said that AJK-domiciled candidates appearing in MDCAT 2026 will be given "every possible facilitation," including local facilitation centres for document submission and a dedicated helpline. AJK-domiciled candidates are admitted through UHS Lahore for the public medical college seats in AJK.

What this means for AJK candidates

AJK-domiciled candidates should register on the central PM&DC portal, not on a separate AJK portal.
Roughly half of the seats at AJK public medical colleges are reserved for AJK-domiciled candidates.
AJK candidates can also compete in the open-merit pools of Punjab, KPK, and federal institutions.
