PM&DC approved raising the annual MBBS intake at Gomal Medical College (Dera Ismail Khan) from 100 to 150 seats for the 2026-27 academic year. The college is a constituent of Khyber Medical University and serves candidates from Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, and the southern KPK districts.

What this means for 2026 admissions

50 additional MBBS seats added to the KPK public-sector pool.
Candidates competing in the KMU-administered merit cycle for 2026 should see the new seat number reflected in the 2026-27 prospectus when KMU publishes it.
Aggregate formula is unchanged; the new seats are filled against the same Matric 10% + Inter 40% + MDCAT 50% formula as every other public-sector KPK seat.
