mymdcat and PreMed.PK: an honest comparison
Two different products, not two versions of the same one. Compare teaching, practice, past papers, AI help, books and price shape before you choose.

Key takeaways
- PreMed.PK is built around teaching and printed books; mymdcat is built around self-directed practice.
- mymdcat has no live classes and no printed books, and it does not pretend to.
- Compare the contents of each bundle, not only the headline price.
- A student who needs a teacher should buy teaching; a student who needs practice should buy practice.
This is a dated comparison, written by the team that sells one of the two products. That fact should shape how you read it. We will state what each product is for, where each is stronger, and what we could not verify.
The comparison was checked on 25 October 2026 against public pages. We have not bought the PreMed.PK course or audited its classrooms. The PreMed.PK description is based on their plans page; the mymdcat description is based on our product data.

The table is a map, not a scorecard. A product can be better for one student and worse for another without either company lying.
What PreMed.PK is
PreMed.PK is an established preparation brand. Its public pages describe live and recorded teaching, printed books and test series. For a student who needs a teacher to explain a chapter and a fixed class to attend, that shape is a real advantage.
PreMed.PK publishes several bundles; check the current plan page for what each includes. Their AI feature is mentioned on the public pages. We did not verify which bundle carries it, so we will not describe its tier placement.
If you are comparing prices, read their plans page on the day you decide. We do not repeat competitor prices here because a number copied into a blog post goes stale and then misleads the next reader. Check their plans page for current prices.
What mymdcat is
mymdcat is self-directed. You open a chapter, answer questions, read the explanation, and use SAGE when you are stuck. The platform does not teach a live class and does not post you a book.
What it includes:
- 83,000+ active MDCAT questions, each with a worked explanation.
- The 2026 papers free in timed or tutor mode, with answers and explanations.
- Notes for 80 of the 89 active chapters.
- About 14,000 flashcards with spaced repetition.
- SAGE, the AI companion, with chapter-level citations when retrieval succeeds.
- A study planner that turns your syllabus and available hours into a daily plan.
What it does not include: live classes, recorded mymdcat lectures, printed books, or a teacher who marks your work by hand. Study Zone is a catalogue of curated YouTube playlists, not a mymdcat lecture library.
Teaching and structure
This is the clearest difference, and it should decide many students' choice.
PreMed.PK is better for a student who wants to be taught. A live class imposes a schedule. A teacher can answer a follow-up question in the moment. A printed book works when the internet does not. For a student who procrastinates without a class, that structure is worth more than a large question bank.
mymdcat is better for a student who already has teaching, or who can follow a written plan. The platform gives you the practice, the explanations and the feedback loop. It does not give you a person in front of the room.
If you need both, you can use a teacher or academy for instruction and mymdcat for practice. That is a common and sensible combination.
Practice and past papers
mymdcat's strongest ground is practice volume and paper access. The bank is large, the explanations are attached to every active question, and the 2026 papers are free. A free 2026 paper does not use your 500 free practice attempts.
PreMed.PK also offers test series, according to its public pages. We cannot compare the size or the explanation quality of their bank without using it, so we will not pretend to.
One practical test: open both products and answer the same ten questions from a chapter you find hard. Read the explanations. The better explanation is the one that tells you why the other options fail, not only why the key is right.
AI help and human support
SAGE is included in the mymdcat free tier for 10 questions a day. On the pass, the allowance is 20 questions an hour. It cites a textbook chapter when it retrieves a passage. It does not carry page numbers, and it can answer from model knowledge when retrieval finds nothing. Treat a citation as evidence and a missing citation as a prompt to check your book.
SAGE is not a teacher. It will not know your class schedule, your school's marking style, or the way your teacher explained a topic. It is a companion for the moment you are stuck at 11pm.
PreMed.PK's human support and teaching staff are part of its offer. Check the plan page for what support each bundle includes. We did not test their response times.
Printed books versus digital notes
PreMed.PK prints books. That matters for students who revise by writing in margins, or who study in places with poor connectivity.
mymdcat's notes are digital. 80 of the 89 active chapters have a note; nine do not yet. The notes sit beside the questions, which makes the read-then-practise loop short. They are not a substitute for a complete textbook, and we do not claim they are.
Price shape, not price numbers
mymdcat publishes one pass price of PKR 10,000, a bundle at PKR 15,000 for MDCAT and UCAT, and a UCAT add-on at PKR 5,000 for students who already hold the MDCAT pass. The full ladder is on the pricing page.
PreMed.PK uses several bundles. Check their plans page for current prices and for what each bundle includes. A cheaper bundle with less teaching is not the same product as a more expensive one, so compare the contents before the number.
Where each product is the better fit
Where PreMed.PK is the better fit
Choose PreMed.PK if you want live teaching, a fixed timetable, printed books, and a human teacher who knows your name. Choose it if your family will only pay for a recognised academy with a physical presence. Choose it if you have tried self-study and know it does not work for you.
Where mymdcat is the better fit
Choose mymdcat if you already have teaching and need practice, or if you can follow a plan without a class. Choose it if you want the 2026 papers free, a large explained bank, and a one-time price that is published on the page. Choose it if you study late and want an AI companion that can explain a wrong option at that hour.
How to decide in one evening
Write three needs, in order. For example: "a teacher for physics", "daily practice", "a price my family can pay once". Then check each product against all three, not just the one it advertises best.
Ask each support team one hard question, such as how they handle a wrong explanation or a refund. Read the refund terms. Then decide, and stop comparing. A week spent comparing is a week not spent studying.
How we checked this
The PreMed.PK column is based on their public plans page, checked on 25 October 2026. We did not buy their course, so we make no claim about their teaching quality, class size or support speed. Prices and bundle contents change; check both pages before you pay. Our editorial process is described on the methodology page.

Common questions
Is mymdcat a replacement for a coaching academy?
No. mymdcat has no live classes and no teacher who marks your work. It replaces the practice, paper and revision layer. Many students use an academy or school teacher for instruction and mymdcat for daily questions.
Does mymdcat have recorded video lectures?
No. Study Zone is a catalogue of curated public YouTube playlists. mymdcat does not record or host its own lectures. If you need a structured video course, that is a reason to choose a teaching provider.
Can I use both products?
Yes. A student can attend classes with one provider and use mymdcat for practice, past papers and flashcards. Check the refund and access terms of both before you pay twice for the same feature.
Why do you not list PreMed.PK prices?
Competitor prices change and bundle contents change with them. We link their plans page so you can read the current number and the current inclusions together. A price copied into a blog post is often wrong by the time a student reads it.
